The need to strengthen regional and institutional cooperation (particularly at the level of graduate training and research), to enrol an equitable number of female students and to create an environment conducive to their academic success, the imperative to embrace new information and communication technologies, to internationalize curricula and study programmes, to strengthen involvement with and support given to other levels and subsystems of education, are some of the challenges brought about by revitalization.
